About Independent Glass Co - Built by hardworking local glass experts
Serving Montgomery Since 1978
At Independent Glass, we believe a local business grows from trust, hard work, and community care. We have served Central Alabama with top-tier glass craftsmanship and personalized customer service for nearly 50 years.
Our Story
- 1978: Founders John W. Givens and Larry Lawrence open Independent Glass Co.
- 2008: Larry and John retire and pass the leadership to longtime team members Jeff Tanner (who started on the cutting table) and James Wilson (who started in glass installation).
- 2026: Greg Meyers becomes the majority owner, as James retires. Greg brings years of industry experience from Pella Windows and Doors and community involvement in coaching youth sports at Auburn. Jeff Tanner still leads our residential glass shop with a steady hand.
